What the test asks about danger zones
The manual puts the danger zone at as much as 30 feet out from the front bumper, with the first 10 feet the most dangerous of all, 10 feet from the left and right sides, and 10 feet behind the rear bumper. The area to the left of the bus is always treated as dangerous because of passing cars. Those distances are why mirror use is taught alongside this topic: the mirrors are how you see into the zone, and the manual expects every mirror checked before you operate the bus.
