How the readiness check works
The 10 questions cover core general knowledge topics that appear on every state's CDL test: vehicle inspection, following distance, downshifting, skid and fire response, brake failure on a downgrade, and staying alert. Your result is an estimate, not a prediction. The real test requires 80% to pass everywhere, a federal standard, though the number of questions is set by your state. Our full practice tests draw on a 1,610-question bank and include a written explanation on every answer.
What to do with your score
Below roughly 70%, work through a study guide before testing again. Guessing your way through more practice tests rarely fixes the underlying gap. Between 70% and 80%, drill the specific categories you missed. Above 80%, move to full-length timed practice so the real exam's pacing does not surprise you.
